The NOT-A-FIRE Sale
If you've not read our latest Newsletter, then you might not be aware that the Tayler residence recently failed to catch fire!
Ordinarily that wouldn't be the kind of thing that needs to be mentioned, as not being on fire is usually a house's default state of being - but a surprise electrical fault in the main power box prompted the summoned electrician to very calmly emphasize that the panel connecting the house to the world of electricity needed to be replaced, as properly functioning electrical panels do not throw sparks.
Doing so was both expensive, and almost certainly necessary to maintain the house's unbroken 35 year streak of not catching fire. To celebrate the continuation of the Tayler House’s fire-free existence (and also pay the bills maintaining it has rather unexpectedly created), we're having a sale!
UPDATE:
You all are amazing and helped us reach our goal far more quickly than we had anticipated. We’re going to leave the sale running until August 15 as planned, because even though we’ve filled the emergency hole, we still have some medical debt from diagnosing Sandra’s EOE last year, Worldcon travel expenses to cover, and additional electrical work to do in our kitchen to stop breakers from flipping when we use the toaster oven and the microwave at the same time.
Schlock helped us update our fundraising graphic. We think he did a great job with it.
